Dynamic Waves 5Rhythms Class Description:

Bring your heart, your feet, your body, your mind and set them all free on the dance floor.

You are invited to come and move your body in the ways your body most wants to move, inspired by music with different rhythms such as Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness. No experience is necessary. This moving meditation practice can ultimately help us become more aligned in our thoughts, feelings and actions and become more attuned to the present moment.

The 5Rhythms® are an embodied movement meditation practice. We show up in whatever state we are in, and put our feet in the beat.

Through returning again and again to the 5Rhythms map, there is a gradual working through of all of the knots that build up in us. Nothing is as predictable as change and eventually, these knots dissolve and transform. Just like following the breath becomes absolutely fascinating for an experienced meditator, so with the rhythms as we practice them, more and more.  As Gabrielle Roth said, “When you put the psyche in motion it heals itself”!

I look forward to seeing you on the dance floor!

Created by Gabrielle Roth and practiced by tens of thousands worldwide, 5Rhythms® is a philosophy, perspective, performance art and a dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion, it will heal itself. Movement is both the medicine and the metaphor, reaching across all languages, cultures and age groups to transform suffering into art, art into awareness, and awareness into action. Wherever the 5Rhythms are practiced, a community is born to dance, to sweat, to change, to support and to provide a safe space for each of us to shatter the ego’s hold and awaken the juicy, unpredictable, fascinating, edge-waling, rock star part of ourselves that years to be free.
